William “Bill” Varga, born January 28th, 1934, in Leamington Ontario, died peacefully at Bobier Villa in Dutton, October 18th, 2024 at the age of 90. Growing up with 12 siblings on a tobacco farm in Rodney Ontario. Bill loved to play music and enjoyed the outdoors. Self taught musician along with his brothers, known as the Vargas. He was a woodsman, having a wood cutting business in the early 70’s before he joined Air Canada, as a Lead Station Attendant on the ramp, retiring in 1994. Bill was also a grounds keeper on Lake Simcoe, he lived on Big Bay Point for over 20 years. An avid sportsman and angler, moose and deer hunting in northern Ontario and ice fishing on Simcoe. Bill’s first wife was Dianne Jones, Kugler, they had one daughter, Carleen Paterson, his 2nd wife, Charolotte “Lottie” O’Reilly, deceased in 1979. He had many nieces and nephews. Bill enjoyed his retirement years living on the family farm. He passed away peacefully at Bobier Villa where he has resided for the last couple of years and where he received wonderful care. Cremation has taken place, a celebration of life for Bill will be held at Bobier Villa Saturday December 7th, 1 – 4 PM, in the Whitelock Room.
