Wesley Tucker Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wesley Tucker of St. Thomas, on June 23rd, 2026. Loving husband for 43 years to Leslie (Pearce) and the greatest Dad to Sareen (Tim), Sonja (Gerald), Michelle and honourary daughter Mary. Wes was also the best Papa to Jordyn, Julia, Jayce, Kloey, Nolan, Branden and Austin. He would spend many hours playing board games, enjoying bonfires, making s’mores and watching silly animal videos with them. Wes also instilled his love for nature and history into their lives. Wes spent many loving years helping to maintain the Hillsdale property under the guidance of his much-loved father-in-law John Pearce and mother-in-law Marion Pearce. He obediently replanted Marion’s dahlias every season under her supervision; despite hating these plants. Wes will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, who remember him fondly through memories of wrapping paper fights at Christmas, outdoor exploration and his retelling of historical events. Wes never let a game go by that he didn’t try to play and alter the rules to allow for his victory. Many fond memories come from the few times someone could beat him at a game, (usually when someone finally would read the actual playbook rules, instead of going by “Wes’ Rules”).

Wes was the eldest son of predeceased parents John and Daisy (Sims) Tucker and parent-in-laws John and Marion (Brown) Pearce. He was a loving brother to Shawn (Coralyn), Pam (Mike) and Chad, creating many memories with them growing up in London, Ontario. Many of those memories involved reciting Monty Python skits, playing dungeons and dragons and wandering the neighbourhood looking for adventure. He was the dearest brother-in-law to Grace (Ed) and Bonnie (Derek). Predeceased by William, Elaine (Murray) and Joyce. Wes was always willing to lend them a hand whenever they called.

Wes had many careers, with his most notable being with the MNR, Delaware Nursery and Walmart St. Thomas; where coworkers quickly became his second family. He loved working with his hands and being outdoors utilising his previous lumberjack skills felling trees and splitting wood. The family enjoyed many stories about his lumberjack competitions while he attended college in Sault St. Marie, Ontario. Wes brought a strong work ethic and caring attitude to his work environments. He often mentored the younger coworkers who looked up to him as a father figure, especially at Walmart.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sudicky for his attentiveness in caring for Wes. Your kindness and concern will never be forgotten. The family would also like to thank the staff at Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre; staff at STEGH; Elgin EMS Paramedics and Community Paramedics; the community home care nurses and the staff at the Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin. It truly was a team effort to allow Wes to travel the cancer journey with dignity and respect. The family cannot say enough for all your efforts to make Wes comfortable during this time. Wes would often remark how humbled and loved he felt during his cancer journey.

In keeping with Wes’ wishes, he will be laid to rest at St. Peter’s Church Cemetery in a private family internment.

The family asks for any donations in Wes' memory to be made to the Barrie Family Hospice of Elgin. www.elginhospice.com
