On Saturday, January 17, 2026, with family by her side, Susan Dianne Van Dam (née Jinks) passed away peacefully in her 75th year at Four Counties Health Services in Newbury, Ontario.
Sue was the loving wife and best friend of Bill Van Dam for 45 years, and the devoted mother of Jennifer D’Elia (M.J.) and Jacqueline Coulter (Andrew). She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren Mirella, Matthew, Evie, Benjamin, Madeline, Liam, and Nolan, as well as by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Manley and Irene Jinks, her brother Ross Jinks, and her sister Bunny (Bernice) Shupe.
Sue found her greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures - dogs at her feet, Tim’s Iced Capp in hand, and family gathered together. Whether spending time at the cottage or hosting friends, she lived with warmth, humour, and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Arn Funeral Home, 193 Shackleton Street, Dutton, Ontario, on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Duff Presbyterian Church, Largie, 13125 Largie Road. A light luncheon will follow the service.
Donations in memory of Sue may be made to Duff Presbyterian Church, Largie, or the West Elgin Daffodil Auxiliary - Welfare.
