It is with broken hearts that the family of Shelby (Sandford) Moran announce her sudden passing at the tender age of 29 on January 18, 2025 following a motor vehicle accident.
Recently married (Aug. 8, 2024) to the love of her life Ben, with their beloved dog Willy, their little family is forever broken. Shelby leaves behind her forever loving parents Velvette and Jim Sandford and protective big brothers Jay (Stacy) and Cole (Kristin). Predeceased by her oldest brother Jimmy (2005); we trust he will show her the ropes on the other side. Sweetest granddaughter of Linda Stahl.
Treasured daughter-in-law of Karen and John Moran and special sister-in-law to Libby (Jimmy), Aaron (Emily), Kasey (Max), Adam (Zach), Kelly (Tonya), and Jami (Adrian) and their grandmother Betty Conway.
Lovingly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Shelby was also a cherished part of a special circle of "Friends for Life" that remember her lovingly.
Shelby was raised by her parents on their hobby farm in Iona Station. Shelby and her mother were inseparable, and her father was her role model and source of much inspiration. An extremely tight knit family, her fondest memories were made at the cottage they built together in Northern Ontario. Shelby had a connection with nature; she was happiest in the woods. A hopeful and sentimental woman; she found four-leaf clovers often and gave them to the loved ones she felt needed them. From her earliest year, Shelby was passionate about learning. She loved school and had an insatiable thirst for learning new things. Shelby graduated from Western University in 2017, then Kings College at Western in 2019. Combining Philosophy, Psychology and Thanatology. Shelby tried to understand the nature of consciousness, connection and what it means to be living. She went on to achieve her MSW in 2023. It was her dearest wish to establish a grief counselling practice. She planned to combine her love of nature with her passion for emotionally supporting others to find inner peace in the silence of woods. It is unknown how many lives she would have touched given more time.
Shelby was always clear that she didn't want a funeral service. Instead we encourage you to engage in whatever ritual brings you peace or solace. A private celebration of life is planned for family and close friends.
A memorial garden will be planted at her family home where she lived with her husband and parents. A fitting tribute to celebrate the life of a woman who grew, flourished and bloomed in her time here. We will feel Shelby in the palpable silence in the woods in the first sprouting of spring flowers, in the four-leaf clover waiting to be seen.
