Rosa E. (Spriet) Logghe

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Rosa Elvira Logghe (Spriet), of Oneida Longterm Care Home, formerly of Iona Station, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Oneida in her 97th year.
She was born in Snellegem, Belgium to Henricus & Alice Spriet(deceased).  She was predeceased by her husband Germain July 10, 2021.
Cherished mother of Daniel (Debbie) Logghe of Shedden.  Proud and beloved grandmother of Karey (Jen), Jamie and Bryce Logghe.  Proud great-grandmother of Makayla Logghe, Peighton Davis and Juliana & Malin Raso Logghe.
She is survived by 2 brothers, Romain(Jeanette-deceased) Spriet of Belgium and Herman (Agnes) Spriet of Ottawa (formerly West Lorne).   Predeceased by her brother Maurice (Georgette)Spriet and sister Suzanna (Andre) Spriet, 2 brothers in law, Roger (Freda) Logghe and Omer (Germaine)Logghe all of Belgium and sister in law Maria (Pierre) (Logghe)Crevits (formerly Vienna).  Also survived by 3 nephews in Canada- Terry (Cindy) Crevits of Delhi, Brian(Sue) Crevits of Vienna and Derek (Joanne) Spriet of Ottawa and many nieces and nephews in Belgium.
Rosa immigrated to Canada in 1954 and settled in Exeter before moving to Blenheim, Highgate and finally to the long term family farm at Iona Station in 1966.   She was a strong woman that worked alongside her husband in burley tobacco, sugar beets, cash crops, raising pigs and chickens.   She also worked outside the home at various companies including McCallum Egg Grading Station, Gentec, the Flamingo Bakery and Pearce Williams Christian Centre.   Rosa was a terrific cook and her Belgium recipes are still being enjoyed by the family.
Friends, neighbours and relatives are invited to Celebrate Rosa's life. Visitaiton will be held at Arn Funeral Home Dutton , 193 Shackleton St,  September 20, 2025 from 1:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. 
Cremation has taken place.
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the PSW's, Nurses, Dr. Birch and the staff at Oneida Long Term care for their excellent care and attention over the last 3 years.
