After a decade of battling cancer, Bob Hodder passed away peacefully with his daughter and his cats by his side, on August 8th 2024, just one week before his 54th wedding anniversary to his wife, the love of his life, June (2023). Bob is survived by his children Rob, Joe (Aimee) Lisa (Bryan). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Kinley, Joaquim , Remy, Raven, Seth, Jed, Sam , Farah. Survived by his siblings, Joan (Ken), Dianne (Herb), Sandra (Jim), Dick (Wendy) and his many nieces and nephews.
Bob spent his whole life farming and in more recent years livestock trucking. He loved spending time with his family and being involved in his grandchildren's sports and activities. Often he would show up with a "care" package to share with others. Bob was a member of the United Church in Dutton. He had a passion for curling, and loved to make people laugh and to laugh with them. He had a great sense of humour and was always willing to help others in need.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Care Partners, and Closing the Gap. Because of their care Bob was able to stay in his home. Also a heartfelt thank you to Rev. Larry Schneider and Rev. Diane Macpherson for their care and words of comfort and blessing.
In memory of Bob donations could be left to the West Elgin Daffodil Auxiliary who was so helpful in our time of need, or the Dunwich United Church.
A Celebration of Life to honour both June and Bob will be held at a later time. Cremation has taken place.
Arn Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
