Phylliss Wilma (Lunn) McCallum

Phylliss Wilma McCallum (nee Lunn) in her 88th year, passed peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on October 19, 2022. Phylliss was the wife of the late Ivan Campbell McCallum (2000).

Deeply missed by her children Ken & Ruth Anne McCallum, Mary Anne & Craig MacCrone and her three grandsons Ian, Colin, and Timothy. Survived by her sister-in-law Yvonne McCallum and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Catherine & Arthur Howard, Donald Lunn, Myrtle & Clarence Holland, Hilda & Earl Lucas, Ruth Lunn, Bruce & Jancis Lunn, Bruce & Agnes McCallum, Clarence McCallum, Donald McCallum, and Maribel & Donald Clayton. She was also predeceased by niece Elizabeth Howard and nephews, John McCallum and Donald Lucas.

Phylliss was the youngest child of William & Sarah Lunn. She spent her youth in South Dunwich until 1958 when she married Ivan. They made their home and farmed in North Dunwich where she lived until this year when she relocated to Royal Oak Senior Living. Her talents have left us with beautifully crafted quilts and intricate crochet work which she loved doing. Homemade buns, pickles, pies, and angel food cake are memorable highlights of family meals together. Phylliss enjoyed Monday quilting and day trips with good friends in the Dutton Seniors Group. Her faith and love of God was always her cornerstone and she was a devoted member of Wallacetown Presbyterian Church growing up and then shared that same devotion through her involvement in women’s groups and the choir at Duff Presbyterian Church, Largie.

Thanks to the 4th floor nursing staff and doctors at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for their efforts in caring for her in her final days.

A visitation will take place at Arn Funeral Home, Dutton on Friday, October 21st from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday October 22nd at 1:30pm. Interment at Cowal-McBride Cemetary to follow. Charitable donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Osteoporosis Canada, or Duff Presbyterian Church Largie in memory of Phylliss.
