Norman Angus McWilliam passed away at Champlain Manor Retirement Residence in Orillia, Ontario on Friday, June 3, 2022, two days before his 101st birthday. He was the son of Archibald Neil (A.N.) and Annie Maud (McMillan) McWilliam. He is survived by his son Bruce Norman McWilliam and wife Lynn of Brechin, Ontario, and their daughter Blythe Jill McWilliam of Victoria B.C. Predeceased by his loving wife Florence Leona (Leitch) McWilliam, his brothers Stuart (Maribelle) and Donald (Ella), and sister Annie (Donald) Leitch. Also predeceased by brothers-in-law St.Clair (Lila) Campbell, Dugald Leitch, Robert (Audrey) Leitch and Norman (Jeanne) Leitch. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Norman was a life-long member and elder of Duff Presbyterian Church, Largie and sang in the choir for many years. He was also an active member of numerous community organizations, including as a member of the local chapter of the International Order of Odd Fellows, Chieftain of the Dutton Highland Games, board member and Chair of the Elgin County Board of Education, and Director of the West Elgin Mutual Insurance Company. Norman was a life-long member of the Largie community where he farmed for many years with his wife Florence. Norman and Florence moved to the Viva Retirement Community in Mississauga in 2012. After Florence’s death in 2018, Norman moved to Orillia in 2019 to be close to Bruce and Lynn. Relatives and friends will be received at the Arn Funeral Home, 193 Shackleton St., Dutton, 519-762-2416 on Wednesday June 8th from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Arn Funeral Home on Wednesday June 8th at 1 p.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Dutton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
