SMITH
After a brief illness, Lela Mae Smith (Rodgers) of Bobier Villa Dutton and formerly of RR#3 West Lorne passed away on May8th, 2005 at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital in her 94th year. Lela was born near Waterford, Ont. to the late Isaac and Eva Rodgers and was predeceased by her husband Charles (1980).
Dear mother of Ron of Wallacetown and Joyce Nagel and her husband Udo of London. Loving grandmother of Dorian Drakos (husband Jim) and Elise Nagel all of London. Cherished great grandmother of Demetria Drakos and Jessica Nagel. Special great great grandmother of Malakai Nagel. Survived by her sisters Mrs. Inez Jones of Extendicare, Port Stanley, Mrs. Evelyn Holditch (husband Douane) of Copenhagen, Mrs. Edna Carter of Aylmer, brother Mr. Harold Rodgers (wife Norma) of Eden and sister Verna. Also survived by her sister in law Betty Rodgers, niece Faye Thorn all of Port Stanley and many other nieces and nephews. Lela was predeceased by her foster son Kenneth Witherow (1973) and grandson Mark Smith (1978), brother Marvin Rodgers and wife Sarah, Howard Rodgers and Alfred Rodgers, brothers in law Gordon Jones, A.J. Carter and sister in law May Thorn. Also predeceased by niece Margaret Ann Wye.
Friends may call at the West Lorne Chapel on Tuesday, May 10th, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be conducted from the chapel on Wednesday at 2 pm. Pastor A. Kaups officiating. Interment Fairview Cemetery.
