“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Kelley Brazier, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, who passed away peacefully at home at the age of 65.
She was an "Army Brat", born in Toronto, Kelley Hopkins would settle in Barrie, where she would marry and raise her family, before later making the move to West Lorne, where she quickly became an active and well-loved member of her new community, especially spending time at the Legion with her many friends.
Kelley shared 43 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Elton. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising three loving children: Chad (Sarah), Christine (Adam), and Cherilee (Kevin). She was the proud and adoring Nana of Kaden, Leah, and Maddie, and shared her love with her faithful dog, Odie, as well as many other cherished “fur-grandchildren.”
She is survived by her brother Kory (Diane) and her sister Kim (Peter), and will always be remembered as a loving aunt, cousin, and cherished figure to her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Roberta and Alasdair ("Bobbie and Al") , and her sister Kathy (Ben).
Kelley generously gave of her time and energy to local charities, proudly supported the West Lorne Legion, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbours. Her kindness, generous nature, and outgoing, fun-loving spirit touched everyone who knew her. Kelley loved dogs, 90's country music, playing euchre for hours, connecting with friends, crafting and crocheting gifts, planning a party, decorating for Christmas, and above all, any time the whole family got together.
More than anything, Kelley will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and Nana, whose family was her greatest joy. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she brightened with her love, laughter, and spirit.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 27th, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the West Lorne Legion, 142 John Street, West Lorne. With a service starting at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Elgin Legion Branch 221 in her memory.”
