Kathlyn Florence Poor (née Rogers) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 23rd, 2026, in her 90th year.
Born on May 23rd, 1935, in Bristol, England, Kathlyn was raised in Glasgow, Scotland before traveling to Canada aboard the Aquatania in 1948. It was in Canada that she met and married the love of her life, Eric Poor. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 65 devoted years of marriage while raising four children.
Kathryn will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and unwavering dedication to her family.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Eric Poor; her son, Steven Poor; daughters-in-law Nancy Sutherland and Pam Poor; granddaughter Kendall Sywyk; her mothers, Kathlyn Florence and Kay Rogers; and her father, William Rogers.
Kathlyn is survived by her children, Jeff Poor (Jayne), Katie Mazak (Randy), and Tisha Sywyk (Tim). She is remembered by her sisters, Kathy Bradley (Dennis) and Patti Harrisson (Terry).
She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Jessica Small (Darryl), Rochelle Van Troost (Steven), Jason Ambrose (Bernadette), Lawrence, Dylan Sywyk (Hailee), Kristi Poor, Erica Campos (Pedro), Tanner Poor (Kate), Dana Chappell (Jay), Curtis Shildrick (Amber), and Mike Shildrick.
She was also a proud great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren: Waylon, Vernon, Eric, Vincent, Alex, Kevin(Stephanie), Justin, Tiana, Hunter, Elena, Ela, Kailen, Luca, and twins, Violet and Grayson on the way.
Kathlyn’s life was one of resilience, love, and deep family connection. Her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.
A Celebration of Life will take place on May 23rd at Iona Hall. More details to follow.
