JULIET "Julie” GOMES (TEIXEIRA)
1937-2026
One of the hardest paths we take in life is the one no longer shared with our Mother.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Juliet “Julie” Gomes ( Teixeira),
who peacefully departed this life on March 13, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in 1937 in Port of Spain, Trinidad &Tobago.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to eight grandchildren and great-grandmother to eleven.
She is survived by her brother Alfred Teixeira and children Sheraine, Caryl, Stuart, and Ryan.
Predeceased by her husband, Ernest Gomes, and her parents, Hermina and Alfred Teixeira.
Julie loved (and flourished) in her over 30-year tenure with the Bank of Montreal.
She left a professional legacy of pins, awards, accolades, and certificates of accomplishment.
A testament to her commitment to family and personal success.
Her younger years were filled with weekends of backyard sunbathing, enjoying summer holidays, whether at home or a cottage. We can still smell the “Coppertone” (SPF 4). Julie had zero desire for cooking, gardening, crafts, etc....
There will be no secret recipes passed down to the family.
She passed down perseverance.
As years progressed, the addition of grandchildren shifted her focus from always having perfectly painted nails to just being “Gigi”. That selfless commitment to her grandkids was her new legacy award.
She shared her love of Bobcaygeon, ON, Rodney, ON, and Halifax, NS simultaneously. Her homes.
Her internal and external beauty was polarizing to all in her presence. Kind, intelligent, and composed.
Loving, giving, and never forgotten.
As per Julie’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. The family would like to send heartfelt thanks for the care, love, and compassion provided by Dr. S. Sharma, Four Counties Hospital, Arn Funeral Home, and certainly her daughter, Caryl, for her selfless care in the last years of life.
Don’t worry, we have your powder and lipstick ....Sandpiper.
Born and Back to the Ocean.
