Peacefully at home, on Monday May 26th, Joe of West Lorne, known by many as “Little Joe”. Predeceased by his wife Natalia (1997), and Deolinda (2004). A very special Tio to Joe Dias, John Dias, Ana Dias, Nelson Dias, Greg Dias and many nieces and nephews of the Oliveira family. Joe is survived by his sisters-in-law, Maria Dias, Maria P. Oliveira and Arlette Oliveira.  Predeceased by his brothers Leonel and Luis Dias. 

Joe and Natalia came to Canada from Portugal in 1974. Joe was 31 years old. In a very short time after arriving in Canada he took a job at Milner Rigsby and worked there until his retirement at 65.  Joe loved his family and everyone loved Joe! He was a friendly face seen around town. He loved to visit and would stop in at the bank every day to say hello. He was a daily at “Out To Lunch” where he was known by name, and his order.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Arn Funeral Home 193 Shackleton St. Dutton Thursday May 29, from 7:00 -9:00 pm.  The Funeral Mass will be held at St Mary’s Church, 128 Main St. West Lorne on Friday May 30th 2025 at 11:00 am.  Interment to follow in St Mary’s Cemetery. Donations in Joe’s memory can be made to The West Lorne Legion through the funeral home.
