It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Campbell in his 83rd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Barbara for over 60 years. Loving father of Alison Beer, and her children Kenzie(Hank), Kylie, Khloe and their father Allen Beer. Melissa Towers and her children Benjamin, Ella, Wilson, Campbell, and John (Nicole) and their children Johnny and Owen.
Survived by his sisters Elaine Bogart (Ron 2018), Sharon and John Blain. Predeceased by brother Gilbert Campbell (2022), brother-in-law Eric Johnston (Darlene 2021). John is survived by many nieces and nephews. Remembered by childhood friends John, Bruce, Sandy, Jim, and Bill.
John worked as a mechanic since the age of 15. He was the proud owner of West Lorne Motors. He was the "go to" mechanic for many farmers in the area.
In retirement, John and Barb enjoyed over 30 years of travelling to their home in Florida where many great memories were made with friends and family. John spent countless hours visiting with all his friends on his front porch, and his infectious laugh could be heard for miles. When he wasn't sitting on the porch, he was on his bicycle or cruising with the top down in his red mustang!
John loved his family and his greatest accomplishment was being "Poppa9X" to his grandchildren. Not a day went by without at least one visit from a grandchild. Poppa was extremely proud of each of them.
The family would like to send out a heartfelt Thank You to Four Counties Health Care for their outstanding care and compassion for John. It will not be forgotten.
The family invites friends and relatives to join them in remembering John. Visitation will be held at Arn Funeral Home West Lorne, 202 Main St on Thursday November 21, 2024 from 12:00pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm.
Donations in John's memory to the Four Counties Health Care or to the West Elgin Daffodil Society- Cancer is greatly appreciated.
