SLAATS
Peacefully, with her family at her side, Mary (Schijven) Slaats went to her eternal rest on Tuesday, Dec. 18th, 2007 in her 85th year. She will be sadly missed by her children John (Diane) Slaats of Rodney, Harry (Joanne) Slaats of Dutton, Johanna (Gord) Szusz of West Lorne, Mary (Lorin) McWilliams of Bothwell, Martin (Debbie) Slaats of Rodney, Betty (Dale) Thomson of West Lorne and daughter in law Shirley Slaats of Rodney. Also missed by 18 grandchildren - Kim, Jeff, Jeremy, Jamie, Shawn, Kevin, Debbie, Gary, Cindy, Jonathan, Mark, Carrie, Colleen, Rob, Megan, Peter, Hailey, Jenica and 10 great grandchildren - Jessica, Jami, Noah, Eric, Taylor, Jeffrey Jr., Wesley, Ethan, Liam and Mya and extended family Harry and Patsy. Also survived by a sister Tiny Schijven (Netherlands), sister in law Nellie Willemse (Delaware) and Miet Vinken, Tirus and Cien Slaats (Netherlands) and many nieces and nephews. Mary has been reunited with loved ones - husband Peter (1996), son Ted (2006), sister Mien Thyssen (1994) and several in laws.
Friends may call at the Rodney Chapel on Thursday, December 20th, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers will be offered Thursday evening at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am at St. Mary's church, West Lorne. Father W. Gutowski celebrant. Interment St. Mary's cemetery.
