Born just outside Rodenkirchen, Germany, Horace or as known to most as "Red" arrived here with his family as a small child.
Loving husband of Cathy Janssen and father to Terresa Janssen (Darren) and William Janssen (Holly).
Remembered by his treasured grandchildren, Rya Strilchuk, Michael Janssen and Layla Janssen.
Predeceased by his parents, Heinrich Janssen and Helene Janssen (Bakermann) and his sisters Trudy, Ingrid, Gisela and Margaret and his beloved granddaughter, Cora Janssen.
He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews and friends.
Red grew up with a love for fishing and the outdoors, his dogs and grand puppies and spending time with his family. He lived a life full of love, laughter and many cherished memories.
Red passed away suddenly at the age of 69 and will be greatly missed by all. His legacy will live on in the hearts of family and friends.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024 as an open house from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at 122 Archer Place in Kitchener (home of Terresa Janssen and Darren Strilchuk) to honour his memory and share stories of a life well-lived.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the KW Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
