Grant Allen Calwell

The family of Grant Calwell are sad to announce his passing on Dec 6th in his 92nd year.  The loved husband of Tena (Campbell) Calwell for 67 years.  Father of Cam (Kathy), Tom (Myra), Anne (Andrew), Doug (Beth) and Scott (Karyn). Proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren, Curtis (Melissa), Chad, Dane (Krystin), Jordan (Angelica), Andy, Jessie, Danny, Chris, Riley, Mac, Morgan, Mark, Jennifer, Sara, Bob, Nick and Garrett. and 9 great grandchildren, Cole, Noah, Jackson, Carter, Witten, Reid, Kensie, David and Scarlet .  He is survived by his brothers Jim (Joyce), and Ivan (Lori) and sisters Pat Gulak, Ann McAfee, and Ila Tatomir and sister-in-law Lorna Calwell. He is also survived by in-laws Keith Campbell (Paula), and Grace Campbell. Grant was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Tom, Bob and Verne, in-laws Russ Campbell, Rosie McCallum (Aubrey).and Marg McCallum. Loved and cherished by many nieces and nephews.  
He was born in Elrose Sk in 1929 on a grain farm. He moved to Ontario at age 18 for one hay season and never returned. After farming he became a teacher and then a hardware distributor sales rep. In 1965 he moved to Glencoe and bought the hardware store. He had the honor of being on the Canadian Retail Hardware Association including President in 1982. Grant and Tena loved RVing and travelled North America enjoying many Escapees Rallies. Most recently they lived at Seasons Retirement Community in Strathroy 
Due to Covid 19 restrictions a private family funeral .will be held at Arn Funeral Home 193 Shackleton St  Dutton [519-762-2416] on Friday Dec 11 at 1pm followed by Interment at Cowal-McBrides cemetery. The funeral procession will be leaving the Funeral Home at approximately 1:40 pm heading east on Shackleton, then north on Iona Road to the cemetery. In memory of Grant, donations may be made to the St Joseph's Hospice in London or the Canadian Cancer Society.  E-transfer: arnfuneralhome@bellnet.ca, or by cheque made out to the charity.
