Germain "Gerry" Logghe Obituary

Peacefully at St Thomas Elgin General Hospital, Germain "Gerry" J. Logghe of Iona Station, July 10, 2021, just shy of his 92nd birthday. He is survived by his loving wife Rosa [nee Spriet], of over 68 years, his son Dan [Debbie. Grandchildren Karey [Jen], Jamie & Bryce Logghe, Great Grandchildren Makayla, Peighton, Juliana and Malin. Brother-in-law of Maurice deceased [Georgette] Spriet, Suzanna [Andre]deceased Spriet, Romain [Jeanette] Spriet all of Belgium, Herman[Agnes] Spriet of West Lorne. Gerry was born in Gistel, Belgium and grew up on the family farm there with his sister Maria Crevits [Pierre] of Vienna ON, brothers Omer [Germaine] deceased and Roger [Freda] Belgium. He served in the Belgium Army in Germany driving Army trucks after the war. He and Rose immigrated to Canada in 1953 and were cash crop farmers.
At Gerry's request there will be no visitation or funeral. Flowers gratefully declined and donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation appreciated. A private burial will take place.
