George Frederick Quinton

George Quinton passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital in his 90th year on April 27, 2025.

Loving husband of Janet (Campbell) for 67 years. Proud father of sons Allan of Guelph, Mark of London, daughters Nancy (Peter Cybulski) of Bancroft, Carolyn Quinton Smith of Horseshoe Valley and Susan (Michael Stemp) of North Bay. Loving Grampy of Jodie Quinton, McKayla Cybulski, Will and Drew Smith, Maeve and Charlie Stemp. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Greta (Mitchell) Quinton and his sisters, Rosella Colvin (Gerald), Marie Downie (Bill), and brother Donald Quinton. Survived by his brother Robert Quinton (Laila) and sister-in-law Brenda as well as many nieces and nephews.

George was born on his parent’s farm, McLean Line, Alborough Township in 1935 and built a house “across the road” in 1958 for his bride, where they lived until last fall.

George was a respected farmer who loved his family and valued his community. He was a kind gentleman who always made you feel welcomed and appreciated. He never missed an opportunity to use his quick dry wit.

Rest in peace Dad, you are going home.

A visitation will be held at Arn Funeral Home Rodney 212 Furnival Rd. on Wednesday, April 30 6:00 to 8:00 PM and 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1 PM Thursday, May 1, 2025. Interment to follow at Rodney Cemetery. In remembrance of George donations to the Kiwanis Club of Rodney or a Charity of your choice may be left with the funeral home.
