Ellen "Jean" (Eddie) McCallum

Peacefully at St Thomas Elgin General Hospital, Monday November 15, 2021 Ellen “Jean” McCallum [Eddie] of Dunwich Twsp in her 94th year.  Dearly loved mother of Cynthia McCallum and Andrew [Michelle] McCallum.  Loved Grandmother of Scott and Alan Curdie, Kiera and Kendra McCallum.   Predeceased by her husband Daniel[2010], and son -in- law  Gary Curdie. Jean  was born in Ekfrid township and pursued a career as a high school teacher.  She held the position of head of the Latin department at Chatham Collegiate Institute.  The remainder of her life was spent in north Dunwich working with her husband on the farm.  She was an avid gardener, baker and card player.   She will be greatly missed.  In memory of Jean, donations to the Knox St Andrew's Presbyterian Church or the Dutton Dunwich Horticultural Society greatly appreciated. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at Arn Funeral Home 193 Shackleton St. Dutton N0L 1J0 [519-762-2416] Thursday November 18,  7-9 pm.  Where the funeral service will be held Friday November 19,2021 at 11:00 am.  Covid 19 safety protocols and masks are required.
