Elaine Doreen (Pearce) Brown

Like a melody muted far too soon the family of Elaine Doreen Brown sadly announce her passing while surrounded in the loving care of family on Saturday November 6, 2021. Elaine was born on November 14th, 1943 to John and Marion Pearce and spent her whole life just steps from the family farm. Elaine was passionate about Teaching beginning her career at the age of 18. She taught many grades throughout her career but for her the last 16 teaching Junior Kindergarten brought her much joy. Elaine was very active in the community and a member of many local organizations. She was a member of Knox St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church where she was an elder as well as involved in many other aspects of the church. When she retired in 1998 she joined the Trillium Foundation, The Sunshine foundation, WMS, The Heritage Society, delivered meals on wheels, helped with transportation, taught Vacation Bible School and helped out with Education days at the Backus Page House Museum. She was a member of DDOWT and participated on the Wallacetown Fair board. Elaine had many interests. She loved history, reading, dancing, music and playing the piano. She played the organ for Arn Funeral Home. She was a member of the Nature Club and loved to go for her Monday morning hikes exploring natures gifts and keeping fit at exercise class. She was always so giving and had a special gift with connecting with people and always knowing just what to say.
She will be forever missed by her loving husband of 57 years Murray, son Corey (Marie), daughter Coralee (Jeremy Dunn) her beautiful sisters Grace (Edward Ford), Joyce Rose, Bonnie (Derek McNulty), Leslie (Wesley Tucker). Predeceased by her brother William and lovingly remembered by Kenneth & Bonnie Brown and Gerald and Barbra Brown. Predeceased by brother in law Gordon Brown. Elaine was so very proud of her grandchildren and will be dearly missed by James, Morgan, Nathan (Dunn) and Alice (Brown). Elaine is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear cousins and great- nieces and nephews.
Family members will receive visitors at the Arn Funeral Home 193 Shackleton St. Dutton [519-762-2416] Tuesday November 9th 2021, (masks required) from 2 - 4pm and & 7 - 9pm. Due to COVID restrictions a private funeral limited to Family and very close Friends will be held Wednesday at 11am. at the Arn Funeral Home. Donations in Elaine’s memory may be made to the Daffodil Society Welfare Fund or The War Amps.
