Dorothy Jean (Tinney) Broom

Early Wednesday August 14th, 2024 at Four Counties Health  Services in Newbury, Dorothy Broom (nee Tinney), formerly of Rodney and Dutton, passed away at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the  late Donald Broom and loving mother of James Russell Broom (Erna), Linda Van Dyk, and Grace Blanchard.Doting Grandmother of  Jennifer Van Dyk, Jeremy Van Dyk (Erin), Bryan Blanchard (Jenn),  Rob Broom (Mel), Bradley Blanchard (Taylor) and Brandee Makrakos  (Anthony). Great Grandmother of Blain and Madeline Van Dyk,  Charlotte and Christina Blanchard, Tommy, Oliver and Nolan  Blanchard, Sophia, Daphne and Anastasia Makrakos. Survived by her sister Mable Cudmore and brother John Tinney (Maryann).  Predeceased by her beloved husband Donald, her mother Florence  Jean Tinney (Glassford),her mother Hester Tinney (Wilson), her  father Orval John Tinney, her sister Ruth Barker (Tinney), her  brothers Ross and Gordon Tinney, and her son-in-law Mike  Blanchard.
In her younger years Dorothy was an avid gardener and a proud  member of the Rodney Horticultural Society. She enjoyed flowers,  knitting, puzzles and in particular spending time with her  grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 23, 2024 at Arn Funeral  Home  212 Furnival Rd, Rodney. 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00  pm. A  private family interment will be held at a later date.
Donations in Dorothy's memory may be left to the Rodney  Horticultural Society, or the Rodney Caring Cupboard.
