Sadly we announce the passing of Ivan Lackey of Wallacetown. Very much loved husband of 49 years and best friend of wife Sheri. A loving father to his 3 daughters - Michelle (Sheldon), Kelly (Des) and Megan(Jeremy). A very proud grandpa to Julie, Shelly and Rob, Aidan and Addison, Kaden, Kolton and Kyla. A super great grandpa to Jackson and McKenna. His family was his life.
The son of Don (2019) and Louie (2023), he is survived by his brothers and sister - Jim, (Lori), Barb (late Bob), Randy (Ann), Paul, Ron (Tammy) as well as many nieces and nephews.
A farmer all his life, he worked with his dad on the family farm as well as custom silo filling and hay harvesting, taking over the farm in 2000. The travel bug hit when daughters Kelly moved to Nebraska and Megan to Burlington. With Sheri as navigator, 14 states, Alberta, Jamaica and areas in Ontario were visited. Driving trips always meant taking the back highways to see the farms as well as the tourist sites. Ever an adventure around the corner.
An avid supporter of the Wallacetown Fair, he was often "voluntold" as he called it, helping whenever and wherever he could.
As to Ivan's wishes a private funeral will be held with Arn Funeral Home looking after the arrangements. A celebration of Ivan's life will be held Sunday May 18th 2025 from 11:00 am until 4:30 pm at the Wallacetown Fairgrounds, 24 Argyle St Wallacetown.
Donations to the Wallacetown Agricultural Society or the Daffodil Society would be appreciated.
