Donald Page Obituary

In Loving Memory of Donald H. Page FCPA, FCGA, FCSI

May 2, 1933 - May 15, 2023

Donald H. Page, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2023, in the presence of one of his sons, after celebrating his 90th birthday earlier in the month. He is predeceased by his wife Marion (Patterson)and survived by his brother Jack, and his family Donald (Cathi), Gerald, Paul (Riitta), Andrew (Christine), Elaine (Brock) and grandchildren James (Janice), Charlie (Haley), Samantha, Lauren, Sydney, Oliver, Isabelle, Paige, Connor, Sarah and great-grandchildren Clark, Elliott, Mackenzie and Cameron.

Don was born in Tyrconnell, Ontario. He married his childhood sweetheart, celebrating 67 years together residing in London, Toronto and finally returning back to the community where they both grew up. From his humble beginnings, he rose to the top of the financial community on Bay Street as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the  TSX,  Chief Compliance Officer Ontario Securities Commission, Director and CFO Midland Doherty Financial Corp.  In 1977, he received the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal for outstanding public service, and was recognized  for his over 50 years of Freemasonry.  Don’s other many accomplishments include Councillor Dutton-Dunwich, Board of Backus-Page and Board of Directors St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation.

Music was a fundamental part of Don’s life, starting with the  Page Quartet and his many involvements with local church choirs. Don’s ability to harmonize both in music and in life was a testament to his soulful nature.

Don will always be remembered as a loyal friend and caring individual who believed in giving back to the community.

Don’s unwavering dedication to his family was a true reflection of his character.  His wife,  children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he leaves behind a family who will be forever grateful for his core life values of family, community, and eternal guidance.

As we bid farewell, he will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness and integrity will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would also like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding care provided by the staff at Bobier Villa, Dutton.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday May 23 2023, 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Arn Funeral Home, 193 Shackleton Street, Dutton, Ontario.
