Christine Elaine McGahan (nee Ritchie)

On Friday, July 31, 2026, Christine Elaine McGahan (nee Ritchie) of West Lorne, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 79.  Predeceased by Jack “John” McGahan (2021) with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.  Also predeceased by her son Tracy Ritchie (1982). 

Dear sister of Harvey (Kathleen) Ritchie. 

Survived by nieces and nephews: Dawn Brown, Dianne Warren, Jim Ritchie, Jim Gander, Arthur Fenn, Donald Fenn, Gordon Fenn, Garry Fenn, Lisa Fenn, Jim Edwards, Ruthann Edwards, Thomas Ritchie, special niece Danielle Ritchie (Donny Sousa), as well as many more nieces and nephews. Christine will be fondly remembered by her great nieces and great nephews.

Chris is predeceased by siblings: Geraldine Stonebridge, Susan Alderton, Wayne Ritchie, Theresa Jordan, Tom Ritchie, and Phillip Ritchie and survived by sisters-in-law: Jeannie (Art) Fenn, Doreen (Ernie) Fenn. Predeceased by sisters-in-law: Theresa (late Wylie) Smith  and Annette (Jim) Gander.

Chris and John’s favourite pastime was fishing in Erieau, St. Clair River, and Port Glasgow.  She enjoyed reading and playing Yahtzee.  She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Relatives and friends will be received at Arn Funeral Home, 212 Furnival Road, Rodney, on Thursday, August 6th from 5-8 p.m. with cremation to follow.  A Graveside Service will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Lorne, on Monday August 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
