Peacefully on January 26, 2019 at Elgin Manor Home for the Aged, Joe Van Nuland of Wallacetown in his 94th year. Born in Heeswijk N.BR, the Netherlands on May 8, 1925. Joe and Jean his wife, immigrated to Canada in 1953 and shared 65 years of marriage. Joe is survived by his wife, Jean, his children Joanne Bobier [Neil], Dianne McFadden [Ed], Ed Van Nuland [Dianne] and Mary Bowering [Paul Overhot].Grandpa to Bruce Bobier [Alana], Jeremy McFadden [Tanya], Sonya and Layne Van Nuland [Alex] and Jessica and Laura Bowering. Great Grandpa to Xander McFadden, Pierce and Addison Emrich and Alistair Bobier. Predeceased by granddaughters Colleen Emrich [Bobier] in 2016 and Nancy McFadden in 2012. One of 14 children, Joe is survived by 1 brother and 1 sister in Holland and many nieces and nephews. Joe was very active in the community. He was a charter member of West Lorne/Wallacetown Knights of Columbus and the Wallacetown Optimist Club. He was past president of St. Helen's Cemetery Board and always active with St Helen's Catholic Parish.Relatives and Friends will be received at Arn Funeral Home 193 Shackelton St Dutton [519-762-2416] Tuesday January 29 6:30-9:00 p.m.Knights of Columbus Service will held at 6:00 p.m.The Funeral Mass will be held at St Helen's Church Wallacetown January 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
